About me

I am a Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist and trained with the Guild of Psychotherapists (www.guildofpsychotherapists.org.uk) with over 30 years experience. I am UKCP registered. I also have a Certificate in Time Limited Therapy and in Psychodynamic Supervision. I have a Primary Certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and in Working with Trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. I have also completed the the Foundation for Infant Loss Training. I have an open minded and flexible approach within the frameworks of the various models which I use. I have a lot of experience in working with pregnancy, childcare and childbirth related issues, relationship difficulties, concerns regarding sexuality and sexual identity, depression, loss and bereavement as well as other general issues. I am listed in the Pink Therapy Directory (www.pinktherapy.com) which specialises in working with gender and sexual minority clients. I offer short-term Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for anxiety and stress and the effects of trauma.

I see individuals and couples for open ended therapy and also time limited work. I also supervise counsellors and therapists.

I taught psychoanalytic and counselling theory and practice for a number of years at various academic institutions including the Guild of Psychotherapists, the University of Hertfordshire and the Herts. and Beds. Counselling Foundation.

Initial consultation and assessment

An initial meeting gives you the opportunity to explore what you want from therapy or counselling. It also allows time for questions about the process as well as to think about the best way for you to proceed if you want to do so.
