Sometimes life as a parent or a mum to be can feel hard. Sometimes anxiety, depression or trauma can prevent us from enjoying pregnancy and parenthood. This can be particularly difficult when everyone around us expects us to be happy. Many pregnant women and new parents feel confused about whether they have "post natal depression" or "PTSD" or whether how they feel is "normal". Working with me isn't about labels it is about improving your quality of life. Whether you have been given a diagnosis that you would like to work on or you just want to feel better and enjoy your day to day life more I can help.
Having been through two difficult pregnancies of my own I know how hard it can be to ask for help when you are struggling. It can feel like you SHOULD be able to cope alone. Training, qualifications & experience
Due to my training as a Clinical Psychologist I am able to draw on several types of therapy so that I can be flexible and find the right approach for you. I have completed additional training in specific therapies such including EMDR, CBT and Mindfulness that can be helpful for problems like anxiety, traumatic experiences and depression. I also have significant experience working with people with additional needs such as learning disabilities and autism. This means we can come up with a plan that suits your needs. Our work will be about making the changes in your life that matter to you so that you can be the parent you want to be.
