I am fully qualified Psychotherapist and Counsellor with extensive experience of working in a number of health/community settings and private practice.
I offer a respectful, confidential space to explore what is troubling you, help you make sense of your experiences, move on from difficult past events, change unhelpful patterns and live a fulfilling life, whatever that means to you.
I bring to my work warmth, sensitivity, humour and a genuine interest in people’s stories. My approach is integrative, collaborative and active in focussing on the issues identified by the client. Approaches I draw from in my work include, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Transactional Analysis, Person-Centred Counselling and Existential Psychotherapy. Coming from an integrative approach means that I can draw from a range of therapeutic approaches. This enables me to engage with you in a way that will be most effective and will best suit your individual needs.
Being listened to, heard, accepted and understood is a vital part of our journey for a more meaningful and fulfilling life.
I have worked with a wide range of concerns including generalised anxiety disorder, depression, parenting, addiction, eating disorder, feeling sad, relationship issues, panic, body image, postnatal depression.
Before becoming a full time therapist I worked in a variety of highly demanding and stressful areas such as healthcare and media. I have a good understanding and awareness of the difficulty of maintaining a work life and family life balance in today's driven society.
