About me

Brit is a YMCA certified ante and post-natal personal trainer. She works with new mums and mums-to-be, and is a mother to one young daughter.

Pre-natal training
Fascinated by the beauty of pregnancy and the body’s natural adaptations, Brit will help you stay active, train safe and prepare for childbirth through all three trimesters. While certain modifications are necessary for the safety of you and your baby, Brit is an informed and impassioned believer that a healthy pre-natal body will lead to a healthier mum AND baby. In fact, she feels so strongly about the subject that she wrote a book on it - Mind, Body, Bump: The Complete Plan for an Active Pregnancy was published on 2 May 2019. Brit will help you find the precious balance of feeling challenged and nurturing your body for two.

Post-natal training
Accelerate your post-natal recovery with Brit’s personal guidance. You’ll feel stronger, more energised and enjoy setting aside valuable time to challenge and celebrate yourself. You can begin personal training after your six week check-up. Brit will perform a simple check to assess the status of diastasis recti – separation in the abdominals – and will coach you accordingly to safely and effectively rebuild your core and pelvic floor. Many of Brit’s post-natal clients have grown stronger and fitter after having a baby than they were before the little one’s arrival!

Service packages

5-week term of Stronger Together Post Natal Classes

5 week course between 19 Sept - 17 October. Course dates coming soon for next term (starting late October)

2:30-3:15PM Thursdays, Lantern Art Centre Studio Theatre, Raynes Park

Move dynamically and energetically in a way that specifically supports the post-natal recovery and the demands a baby has on your body. Better yet, let’s do it together in a safe, active and inspiring community of women who want to live, love and move to the best of their ability.

The class comprises 20min of aerobic-style conditioning which you can do with or without a baby carrier, followed by 20min of strengthening exercises targeting the core, glutes and posture so you leave standing taller, moving easier and with renewed energy to give back to your baby.

Babies welcome and integral! Breastfeeding and changing of course welcome, though to get the best out of the class I do recommend coming with milk-sated and clean babies (if they so oblige!). Please wear comfortable, supportive trainers and bring your own mat. Resistance bands will be used and provided in class.

Please ensure you’ve been signed off for exercise by your GP. If you would like to discuss any post-natal health or fitness concerns, please contact Brit to discuss.

Testimonials

  • "I started a personal training course with Brit when I was about 10 weeks postpartum. I had put on extra weight with my second son, and had quite a difficult birth. I was nervous about how my body would react to training and if I would ever be able to feel like myself again. I met Brit first for a chat about how she could help me and instantly felt as ease and excited about getting back to it. She listened to my desires and anxieties and I was so relieved to hear how her work ethic was about focusing on my physical strength, as well as the emotional gains I would get from incorporating fitness in my life. She wasn’t going to sell me a quick fix bikini body programme that my body couldn’t handle and that was unsafe or unrealistic. Our sessions were great fun. She came to us at home, the workouts were tough but measured and she kept a close eye on how my body was responding and changing. She bounced my son around if he was ever unsettled, so I could focus on myself for an hour. She was encouraging and enthusiastic. The workouts were different every week and she understood if home pressures meant I didn’t always complete my homework! We moved away from the area and I was so sad I wasn’t able to continue my training with Brit. I would recommend her to anyone." Becca
  • "Brit is an amazing trainer! I started personal training sessions with her after having a baby, and she helped me get back into shape more smoothly than I could have imagined. Brit challenged me safely at every session, always remaining positive and a great motivator. She knew all the right exercises to help me rehabilitate my core and improve my fitness without just jumping around. I definitely recommend her to new mum and anyone else who wants to incorporate fitness as a long-term lifestyle." Liz

  • "I feel incredibly lucky to have had the opportunity to train with Brit for the past two years. Brit trained me right the way through my pregnancy and continues to train me post-natally. It’s so overwhelming for first time mums to know what is safe and there is a lot of conflicting information out there! I was relieved to have Brit’s expert advice and guidance, and trusted her completely to lead me in trimester appropriate exercises. Safety aside the training was always really enjoyable and her upbeat attitude pulls you through! I also highly recommend her mum and baby classes, where I found a little community of new mums coming together to make a little time for ourselves in the whirlwind of those early months. The babies loved it too of course!" Hannah & Baby James
